A HALLOWEEN POST FROM THE WRITER/PRODUCER…October 30, 2011, Posted in Uncategorized Comments: No comments
Working on the film shoot I had a lot of the cast and crew ask me about my writing. They were curious as a writer what inspired me to write such a great script. They are certain rules Hollywood seems to forget about. One, you always need your lead hero or heroine to connect to. Two, you need a good beginning and a great ending for any story worth being told. Here is a list of some of my own favorite horror films. They’re my favorite because they’re amazing films, or because as a writer they came up with something that I didn’t have a clue was coming in the end. This isn’t all of my favorites, but if you’re looking for some good Halloween flicks to watch these should help. Enjoy and add some of your favorites so I can check them out. The more unpopular the better. I’ve seen a lot. Have a great, safe Halloween. 1. Poltergeist (my all time favorite) 2. A Nightmare on Elm Street (first horror film I remember seeing at age 7) 3. Saw (first was always the best) 4. Evil Dead 2 (campy, bloody fun) 5. Army of Darkness (horror/comedy but can watch over and over again) 6. The Mist 7. The Devil’s Rejects 8. Deep Rising 9. Final Destination (not ‘The Final Destination’ avoid that one at all costs) 10. Orphan (updated Good Son basically but loved the twist) 11. Splinter 12. Jaws 13. The Ring 14. Cat’s Eye (one of the only things that scared me as a kid, damn trolls) 15. Aliens 16. The Fly (1986 version Jeff Goldblum, Gina Davis) 17. Cujo 18. Dawn of the Dead (remake, one of the few remakes I enjoyed) 19. Drag Me to Hell 20. Spiral 21. Love Object 22. The Signal 23. Ginger Snaps 24. Frozen 25. Silver Bullet -Craig Everett Earl PICK UP SHOTS October 17, 2011, Posted in Uncategorized Comments: No comments
Late update here, but I’m happy to report that our recent October 8th and 9th shooting days were a great success. We captured some very moving/shocking moments that I am very excited about. Be on the lookout for official set photos and possibly…..footage in the coming weeks. -Kyle Exciting new poster artwork done for the Fright Night Film Festival and your viewing pleasure!!! You may have seen us this weekend at the Fright Night Film Festival if you were in attendance!!! Pretty exciting weekend with John Carpenter and all the other filmmakers! We were showing a rough cut of the Intrusion Disconnected teaser trailer and to gain a little awareness of our project, but don’t fret if you missed us! I’m sure you’ll get a sneak peak sometime soon!!! - Carrie
DAY TWO ON SET Second day in the can. Another late night but all foreseeable problems were handled BEAUTIFULLY. Cast and crew are making this an amazing experience for me. On to day 3! -Kyle (Sorry, Kate, couldn’t help myself. Caught sleeping on the job! -Carrie)
First day of shoot done! Long, tough day but the first ones always are. I can tell you this….footage so good you’ll slap yo momma.
-Kyle Kyle Cates here, director of Intrusion:Disconnected. I want to thank you for visiting our site and give you an extra large hello from the cast and crew. This is a film that’s been five years in the making and we’re all very excited to share this journey with you.
I’m writing to you near the end of pre-production as we are only about a month away from shooting. Everything is coming together very well for us during pre-production and we’ve had great help and cooperation from a lot of people who believe in this project. Rehearsals have been amazing and I’ve been blown away by the amount of talent and dedication our actors have shown. It makes a director’s job a lot easier when a cast has this much skill and I can guarantee it will show on screen. This is a horror sequel and while I’m not going to go into much, we’ve really upped the ante this time around. Craig Earl’s script goes into some dark territory with the characters as well as the story, and I can tell you that you are in for an experience. Horror fans will not be disappointed. I’ve posted a few exclusive photos to wet your appetites. Just a few peeks at some pre-production work…enjoy. Explore the site and check back soon for more updates. -Kyle |
